Then you noticed you had two shadows...well the second had wings. You look up and find the sharp eyes that had been tracking your progress. A bright red gryphon-like creature hovered over your head with an expression of great curiosity. You were probably the first human he'd ever seen.
As he was clearly discovered he landed nearby so you didn't need to get a kink in your neck to talk to him. As he ambled over you found he moved more like a canine than a feline. Did that mean he wasn't actually a gryphon? He sits before you. "Greetings, I am Zaveh, a Gryphine. You aren't planning mischief are you?" His eyes narrow at this. You explain that you are simply visiting and intend no harm. He relaxes. "Good. We had trouble with the last bunch of humans that came this way. Decided I should keep an eye on you just in case you were of their kind." And with nothing more said, he took to the air again and left you alone. But you had a feeling he might still be keeping an eye on you just the same... "Don't let him get to you, he's a grump," a gentle voice said. Turning you see another of these Gryphines. There was no way you wouldn't have seen there there before, so she must have just flown in.
She tilts her head back to look at you. "My name is Celeria, and we all know that if any human attempts any mischief here all we have to do is throw them off the cliff. It's pretty easy actually. So most humans don't try to hurt us." You realize she wasn't intended to scare you, she was just stating fact, but it was a little unnerving. Just then, off in the distance, a burst of light as the sun broke over the tops of the trees, and from that, a brilliant red Gryphine, with long delicate feathers from his tail. It takes you a moment to realize that he wasn't actually a pheonix, the combination of colours, feathers and sun made him appear aflame. You watch him mesmerized.
"Don't gape, that just makes him all the harder to be around. He's already too vain for his own good." As you gazed up into the sky, you noticed two other small forms approaching. One was green, the other white and blue, making her very hard to see till she got closer.
The female introduced herself as Seraphina. She was light, delicate and graceful. An angelic creature of great beauty. Toker on the other hand was a grumpy ball of green fluff. He curled up on the ground and set about glaring at you from a distance. You respected his desire, after all that beak was sharp!
