Dragon Dark

© 2000 SunBlind

Moonlight slipped
Through hidden flaws.
Soul of darkness,
And sharpened claws.

To the creature
Out of sight.
Midnight scales,
And wings of night.

Coiled tail,
And fang'ed death.
Eyes of onyx,
And flaming breath.

A shadow being
Of dreams gone bad.
The silent form
In minds gone mad.

But this creature
Of man's desire,
Strains to waken,
Burning fire.

Lies the dragon,
In soulless sleep.
A dragon dark
Buried deep.
